Joia Henderson is a dedicated educator and entrepreneur who has combined her passion for literature and her commitment to education into a thriving nonprofit. She is the founder of Literature Circle Society, a nonprofit devoted to enriching the lives of disadvantaged youth through the power of book clubs. Joia's initiative aims to foster a love of reading, enhance literacy skills, and create a supportive community for young readers who might not otherwise have access to such opportunities. Joia holds a teaching degree from Wayne State University in Michigan, an institution known for its strong education programs. Her academic background laid a solid foundation for her career in education, which spans over eight years in the public school system. During her time as a public school teacher, Joia gained firsthand experience with the challenges faced by underprivileged students, which inspired her to create the Literature Circle Society.
